John Adams, our direct ancestor, gives us another ancestor who served in the Revolutionary War.
We know little of John Adams except for an important record from the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution which indicates that he lived from 1730 to 1780, was a seaman on the brig "Fancy", was taken prisoner in 1777 and confined in Old Mill Prison, England. He died in Marblehead, apparently not long after being released from prison in England.
From his probate record we know that was a fisherman. He married Mary Pederick (Pedrick) of the old Marblehead family, and together they had seven known children, at least one of whom died as a very young child.
At the time John's probate was administered in 1804, his children John (2), Mary Salkins, Nathaniel P., Meriam, and our direct ancestor Elizabeth Martin were still living. No records at all for John and Mary's youngest child Richard Pederick Adams can be found, and since he was not included in his father's probate records, we can probably assume that he died young.

John and Mary's first child, their daughter Mary, married Thomas Forness Salkins. They settled in Marblehead and had eight known children together.
The second surviving John married Sarah Reed, settled in Marblehead, and had six known children.
Our direct ancestor Elizabeth Adams married Captain Thomas Martin. They settled in Marblehead and had seven children (two of whom died young). Her youngest daughter, the second Martha, married Joseph Harris. The probate record for John Adams authenticates his relationship as the father to Elizabeth.
There are two marriages recorded in the "Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850" for Nathaniel Adams. I have gone with the one to Elizabeth Conway, although it occurred when he would have been over 30. If he had married Susannah Trevett on 29 Nov 1795, his age would have been more the norm for those times; however, Susannah Trevett Adams died as a widow in a poor house long after Nathaniel married Elizabeth.
Nathaniel and Susannah had five children: Mary Wormstead Adams, Samuel Russell Trevett Adams, Nathaniel Adams, Michael Havant Adams, and John Adams. The marriage listed above includes children with the middle name "Reed", Nathaniel's sister in law, which indicates this is the probable marriage for Nathaniel. Nathaniel and Elizabeth had nine children, most of whom sadly died very young.
Mariam Adams died apparently single at the age of 72. It's possible she had a son named Richard Pedrick Adams. A listing in the Massachusetts Vital Records shows a son born to a Meriam Adams and baptized on January 26, 1800. No father is listed and I could find no marriage for a man named Adams to a woman with the first name of Meriam.
