Sarah Pedrick (Pederick) was the daughter of one of Marblehead's very earliest families. She married her first husband Henry Brentnall, and by him had three children before his early death. I could find nothing about these three children except that Henry fell from the shrouds of a ship in 1707 and was injured. Since Sarah Brentnall Oliver had a second daughter named Sarah and a second daughter named Miriam, it's probable that Sarah Brentnall and Miriam Brentnall both died before the birth of the second Sarah and the second Miriam.
The widow Sarah Brentnall married David Oliver, who was still living in Marblehead at the time. Together they had seven children, the oldest six of whom were born in Marblehead. No birth record for their last child Jacob exists in Marblehead; however, he married in Marblehead, so it's likely he was also born there.
David and Sarah Oliver's seven children all grew to adulthood and married in Marblehead with one exception, their son David who married Hannah Stacey in nearby Lynn.
From the Georgetown Historical Society, "A History of Georgetown Island" we learn a bit about son David and his wife Hannah, who moved to Georgetown, Maine (formerly Parker's Island).
David Oliver, Jr. had a son David of the 3rd generation (grandson of David and Grace). He and his wife, Hannah Stacy, came to Georgetown from Lynn, Massachusetts. He and his father, David Jr., and Thomas Trafton, built their first lumber mill on the eastern branch of the Cove on what is now the Indian Point Road. Later they built a second lumber mill on the west branch of the Cove Thomas Trafton also had a gristmill on the west bank of the western branch, near the former old Post Office at the bottom of the hill in Georgetown Center. to the 1759 map, Trafton had Lot #19 and Oliver Lot #20. Both built log cabins nearby. Oliver's cabin was on the road and Tafton’s was farther down the slope nearer the water. The fourth generation David Oliver (son of David and Hannah Stacy) "lived in a log cabin near the marsh." David 4 and his wife Agnes Campbell are buried on the Trafton farm at Georgetown Center (site of the Georgetown Central School), their graves marked by small black slate stones.
We know that the first David Oliver and his wife Grace both died in Georgetown, and we know the second David Oliver and his wife Sarah also died in Georgetown. It appears that five of their children remained in Marblehead and had their own children there. Thomas married Ruth Oakes in Marblehead, but no information can be found about whether they had children. It's possible they moved to another location.
John Oliver who married Jane Waters is our direct ancestor. His brother David Oliver and his wife Hannah are the sixth-generation grandparents of Ruby Catherine Stevens, who took the stage name of "Barbara Stanwyck."
Her genealogy side by side with ours is found on the Stanwyck page.
